Abstract : This specification covers three types and several grades of unsintered extruded films or tapes manufactured from virgin, unpigmented polytetrafluoroethylene in specified nominal thicknesses. Having different apparent densities, the three types of tapes covered here are: thread seal tapes (Type I); low density tapes (Type II); and wire and cable tapes (Type III). Individual grades shall adhere accordingly to thickness, tensile strength at yield, and elongation at maximum strength requirements.
